Subject: Reposting of the message to the USENET newsgroup
Hello Minix Community,

We are migrating discussion over to a Google Group due to all the spam
on comp.os.minix. Please join the group by visiting
http://groups.google.com/group/minix3.
We are only allowing posts from members, so please register if you
wish to join the discussion. Of course, the Google Group's archive
will be available to members and non-members alike.

Comp.os.minix  will remain archived via Google Groups, but we will no
longer monitor it. Please post questions, discussion items, etc. to
the new (hopefully spamfree) one.

We are actively working on a new release (with virtual memory among
other features).Stay tuned for announcements.

We are also going to apply to Google to become a mentoring institution
for the 2009 Google Summer of Code. For a sneak preview of some
projects, see http://www.minix3.org/soc-2009. However, check back
before applying since it is likely to change.

As always, user contributions, especially ports and drivers, are very
welcome, as are contributions to the Wiki at
http://www.minix3.ucsc.edu/wikis/minix3/.

Happy hacking, all.

Andy Tanenbaum

P.S. I just received a research grant from the European Union of 2.5
million euro (about $3.4 million) to continue to work on MINIX 3 for
five years. I'm looking for a postdoc or two in operating systems and/
or security. Also a programmer on a security project. If you are
interested or know someone who might be, look at www.cs.vu.nl/~ast/jobs.
