Hello

I recently submitted a request for volunteers on this site, but I did not receive a response.  So, I thought I would try again.

I am currently an EdD student who is putting together my proposal for my dissertation. I am researching student engagement when using Minecraft as an instructional tool in elementary classrooms. The process would consist of a survey completed by students.  I would not be asking you to do anything different in your classroom nbor would I come and disrupt your lessons.  I would send you a notification for families, permission slip for participants, and the survey for students.  The only requirement is for your students who obtained permission to complete the survey and the results be mailed back to me.

I will gladly share the findings with anyone interested. In order for it to be approved by IRB I will need to have a large enough sample size of which I would describe the demographics in my proposal. If you would be interested in assisting me, please let me know.

My goal is to have results that shows the positive impact this instructional tool has on student engagement, including the class approach to problem solving.

I appreciate any volunteers!

Erin

I'm happy to participate, but my youngest groups this year are in 7th grade.

I echo Sarahi's response - I teach 7th grade and can help if that age level works for you.

Also 7th grade.  If you change your project so that it includes 7th grade let me know.

Hi Erin,

My school will be starting a MinecraftEdu club near the end of January and I'd be glad to help.  Let me know what the next steps are.  Thanks!

Hello Erin,

I might be willing to assist you if you haven't found enough participants.  Can you give me some specifics so I can obtain approval from my building principal?  We are using MinecraftEDU for grades 3 - 5.  Approximately 125 students.

You can email me at alkn...@spsmail.org

Hi Erin,

I am starting work with several schools across several years, but too be honest, I am not sure what our elementary engagement will be at this point and we are Australian, so I hope that's OK for your study. If our teachers are OK with the surveys I would like to check the questions and add a couple that are specific to our needs as well. Then of course, we would be delighted to know the results.

Good choice of topic!

Toby
