My first question would be: Is this lag only associated with this world or does it happen in any world you use?
The lag you are experiencing could be from what has been created in the world, such as if there are lots of animals, or signs or item frames or moving water or moving lava or redstone contraptions. The distance between all the players can be a factor also but if they all stay in the same village, that shouldn't be a problem.
But it also is likely to be computer/network related. If you are using wifi to connect, that can be a slow spot. Also, if your computers are 32bit operating systems, you are relegated to lower memory allocations. A 64bit system on at least the server machine would be a big help.
Let us know as much about your network and computer setup as you can and if you've tested with other maps, etc. Then we'll help the best we can.
Hi folks! I have a MinecraftEDU after school program and there are about 15 people in the club (give or take) and we have been experiencing horrible horrible lag! Does anyone else experience this or have an idea on what causes it and how to ameliorate the situation? We had a beautiful server with a village that the students built up with a working farm and store houses and a fountain in the square and we had to abandon it because students couldn't break the blocks or got stuck in the world upon logging in. We are using the most recent stable update. Last year we had just a few less people and we never had the lag issues. Please help. I have people dropping out because it's so frustrating to play!
