I was told quite a few times to take a look at my attitude, and I have
done so(or trying to).Maybe one should look at ones attitude regularly
and see if we are not slipping ?

Yes, perhaps daily. Reflection on oneself is a critical part of
many Eastern faiths. Christianity, though, tends against it as the
acceptance of a vicarious sacrifice means that critical self-
reflection is not required for spiritual emancipation. All one has to
do is believe that someone else did something that wipes your bad
actions away. Yet, upon careful reflection, one can see that,
emotionally, it doesn't work like that. One still has to come to
terms with themselves. No one else's efforts can resolve our internal
issues. With ourselves, we are alone. But, as I believe we are all
alone with 'The One', I am together.

Thom, even the notion of 'slipping' appears to be attitude based, no?
And, though most cultures have some process of self observation (see
"Know Thyself!" too), to acquire the ability of introspection, even to
the ultimate goal of it being omnipresent is at the very least a
laudable goal!

What's important in this context, Thomas, is to know what one's
attitude is, what are the possible attitudes ( in one's own context ),
the process of attitude formation, and having the capacity to
intervene in the process in order to change one's attitude as desired.

The process of attitude formation is deep within you !

Well I can understand what you are saying, and I am aware of my
constant negativity towards life, but, let me ask all of you a
question? If one looks at the REALITY of life, not ones IDEAL
perception of life and how one wants life to turn out,how is your
attitude to life ?,are you always positive towards the REALITY of life
or negative towards it.

Tom, I have a tattoo on my right forearm about two years old, it is
there to remind me that it is right and good to get angry every so
often, yet there are things that are just beyhond your control, and at
these things anger is a waste of time and energy.

So my attitude to reality is one, I hope that is based in reality.

Well,I do believe that it is a waste of time and energy to get angry
about things that will never change no matter how hard you stomp your
feet, and I do believe that anger is a felling that we all experience
on daily basis's.One can rid of ones anger quite easily and if not it
could become dangerous though and not healthy.

If you put it that way, our life will be a misery just by living in
reality... Hope is the quintessence that has and will continue to urge
us to live. However, this is a world where you ultimately will have to
interact with others, so i believe that one's attitude is essential,
otherwise everyone is either a jerk or will go on to live in an
isolated cave.
