As mentioned, I'm planning to order more of the 1/8" (3mm) wood that works well on the laser cutter:

  http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2004113/7913/Baltic-Birch-Plywood-3mm18-x-12-x-12.aspx

Those 12"x12" pieces are cheap, at $1.59 each, so a dozen is less than $20.

Here's who will be ordering this time:

Joseph Bozarth - 12 sheets of 1/8" 12"x12"

Pete (Me!) - 12 sheets of 1/8" 12"x12"

Collin Britt - 1 sheet of 3/4" 12" x 12"  (Assuming this is not for the laser cutter.)

Shane - ???

If you want some, or some other wood from Woodcraft, let me know...

(If you're not sure about ordering, I usually have some spare sheets in my locker, and if you toss $2 in, you can grab one.)

With the 60 watt I think you can do 4mm or maybe 6mm wood. (Can anyone confirm?)

I order sheets from Woodcraft. Order online though, don't go to the local store!

And if you do plan on ordering some, others might want to get in on it. (I'd be one of them!)

If you just need a few sheets of 3mm thick 300mm x 300mm I have some in my locker... just leave $2.00 per sheet you take.

Hey,

I am working on a design for a shelf and I wanted to cut it out on the 60w laser from that Baltic Birch Plywood that everyone seems to speak so highly of. I was just wondering how thick of wood you can cut and where to pick some of that plywood up.

Thanks

I don't have any cash on hand, but if you order extras, I'll gladly
buy them as needed....

(Over the coming weeks, I'm going to have to make a special order.
I've got the Clockwork Boxes all designed, now I just need to cut them
to make sure I didn't royally screw anything up)

I've also started on the larger Vine Boxes (damned flowers!) and have
plans for the Celtic Knot Boxes, though those haven't been designed
yet....

Sounds good... I'll just keep with the whole "in my locker when you need them" routine. :)

Wood came in today! I'll bring it to the space tonight.

Shane (and anyone else) if you just need a sheet at a time, I usually have some in my locker... feel free to grab one and leave $2.00 in its place.

Sorry guys, slight correction... *some* wood came in today, but the 1/8" is back-ordered and won't ship until Nov 30, 2012.

That means I have the piece(s) for Collin, but not Joseph or Kevin. :/

Yessss!

Good news... the 3mm wood shipped today, and may arrive by Tuesday, which is good, as I will probably be at the meeting Tuesday.

More good news! The wood arrived today.

Kevin & Joseph, I can give you your pieces tonight.

Shane and everyone else... if you need a piece of 3mm 12"x12" Baltic Birch, let me know and I can part with them at $2.00 each.
