Is there no good place to buy it in the area or is it just a lot more expensive? if either is the case I will be placing an order so if anyone wants to add in on that let me know. I was hoping to get this done this weekend is why I ask. (for clarification it is going to be something that sits on the ground. nothing wall mounted)

Well, you can flex it... of course you can cut and layer multiple pieces with a bit of glue.

How strong is the 1/8" stuff? It is for a shelf that isnt going to have to support that much weight (game consoles) but since it is fragile stuff I worry a bit.

When the 25 watt was all the rage we found the 3mm (1/8") Baltic Birch plywood worked really well...
With the 60 watt I think you can do 4mm or maybe 6mm wood. (Can anyone confirm?)
I order sheets from Woodcraft. Order online though, don't go to the local store!
And if you do plan on ordering some, others might want to get in on it. (I'd be one of them!)
If you just need a few sheets of 3mm thick 300mm x 300mm I have some in my locker... just leave $2.00 per sheet you take.

Hey,
I am working on a design for a shelf and I wanted to cut it out on the 60w laser from that Baltic Birch Plywood that everyone seems to speak so highly of. I was just wondering how thick of wood you can cut and where to pick some of that plywood up.
