Open Friday Night?

I know Shane just posted about the AS&S event this Friday, but it's also Gallery Night, and while we are not officially involved, we had talked about being open to the public... do we still want to do that? I probably won't be able to make it, but if someone (or a bunch of people) want to head it up, go for it.

If you've got art to sell though, and don't mind hanging at the space for a few hours Friday night, I will help promote it.

We're quite a ways away from the 3rd Ward, aren't we?

I think maybe we should put our resources into prepping for May 31st....

We could just mention that our doors will be open for the evening or something....

We're not right next door to the Third Ward, but many art-related places open their doors since people are out and about, and may want to stop by.

Yes, we can open our doors, as was suggested, but we need someone to commit to being there and opening the doors, and greeting people, giving tours (if so desired), etc.

It could mean selling some artwork, or gaining new members... that's why it was considered.

Ok, I getcha.

I was concerned about it coming across as "half-assed" or something, but it sounds like we have a chance to make a good impression.

I won't have much ready to sell by then, but I can try.

What time Friday?  Also, I need to make sure I'm not the only one there. I've given tours to large groups before, and it's so much easier if we can break them up a bit.

Plus, it would be nice to have a stationed "greeter" to let people know that tours are being given (if everyone's out giving tours, someone walking in might be a little lost.)

We may get no one at all, or we may get a bunch of people... really no way to know. :/

If you want to head this up, find at least one other person who will be there, and it's probably something that just two people can handle. (One to hang out, one to give tours.)

Sadly, I can't be there, but if you can get another volunteer, I'll help spread the word.

Earliest I can get there is ~5:30 on Friday, 6 would be very safe. Staying till 9 is no big deal.
