A123 cells

Eric Power has a small stock (~70) of 20Ah A123 pouch cells that he is selling. I think I am going to pick up a couple just to mess around with since that is what I would like to use if I ever get around to making anything... Anyway, I'll be picking them up at Drive Green Expo next weekend.

The cells are $27.50 each for a 20Ah pouch cell. Anyone else interested?

I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Figured I could make my own 12V lithium battery for powering video accessories, etc.

20AH would be about right for a Powerwheels too!

Yeah, those pouch cells only weigh 1.1 lbs each too. You're looking at a ~5 lb 20Ah 12V battery after you add hardware. Talk about light weight. Rated for 200A continuous discharge and 380A burst.
