I was just looking at the "hibernate tools" which is usually helpful
in reverse engineering and migration stuff (but not completely).
https://www.hibernate.org/hib_docs/tools/reference/en/html/index.html
I found the process quite easy, so I did some code generation from
Mifos hibernate configuration files.
http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/80a924fe-90bb-4cc8-b476-5a9709b9c6d7/?action=forceDL
This zip file contains
1. JPA code for domain objects of Mifos (like cheetah project)
2. DAO code based on the domain/model of Mifos
3. hibernate docs for xml mappings and tables
But there is a issue that code-gen won't be able to generate named
queries. (hbm2java skips <query> elements for now)
http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HBX-465
It could have been more interesting with this feature.
I am not sure if this can help.
I was just happy to learn about hibernate tools and wanted to share :)
