I'm going to be buying some of the NRF24L01+ modules from eBay for about $1.73/ea and was wondering if anyone else wanted some.  If so how many?

Thanks,

Daniel H.

Dan,

I'm in for 10.

Do we get a bulk discount at a certain number? I could be persuaded to bump it to 20 if the price goes down a bit.

Off the bat, no on the discount.  However if we're going to be doing 30~40~50ish or more of them, then I'll see what I can persuade them for a number to hit to get a bulk discount.

Thanks,

Daniel H.

Is this just the chip, or the arduino-ready module?

This is a module with the antenna built into the board. You will need to make a custom shield or use jumper wires to connect it to an Arduino. They work only on 3.3v but the i/o's are 5v tolerant.

Do we want to see if there is a Nordic shield that we can get run at a board house?  With 70 I'm sure the cost would be less that .50 per shield.

Shield?  I'm personally not looking for a shield to just connect these to arduinos if that's what you're talking about.

I'm trying to get them to drop the price to $1.40 per board, but it being China, they're not quick to respond.  If we can attempt getting em cheaper than that elsewhere it's always worth a look.

Also since I have to buy them in lots of 10 from these guys, the additions from Greg and Chad still keep it at the 60 to 70 range.

Daniel - 10
Sonny - 10 ~ 20
Ben - 4
John - 10
Brad - 4
Danny - 10
Greg - 8
Chad - 4

Total - 60 ~ 70

Well it seems they flat out refuse to come down on the price at all.  Looking at things at little further, they do already have the cheapest price out there at a $1.73/module.  The next nearest one is about $2/module, and up from there.  Unless someone thinks they can find a cheaper place soon, I'll be ordering these in the next day or two so as not to hold this up for terribly long.

At this moment I show the following.

Daniel - 10
Sonny - 10 ~ 20
Ben - 4
John - 10
Brad - 4
Danny - 10
Greg - 8
Chad - 4
Dru - 10
Keith - 4

For a total of 74 needed.  Sonny do you know whether you're going to want 10 or 20 since they're not wanting to budge on price?

Thanks,

Daniel H.

Ok, just giving updates as I can.  I checked back on ebay and it looks like some details have posted about the chips shipping.

Tracking number: LK399121040CN
Estimated Delivery: 09/27/12 - 10/11/12

Hopefully they'll be here sooner rather than later, so we'll see.  I ordered a whole bunch of other stuff around the same time, and it has started trickling into my mailbox.  I'll let everyone know more soon as I have more.

Thanks,

Daniel H.
