Does anyone happen to have any older hard drives lying around that you'd like to sell for super cheap?  I could use some for a few projects I have going on.  Anywhere from 10-40GB would be fine.

Thanks!

Given the size, I'm assuming IDE - any preference to ATA/Ultra ATA?

Yeah they'll probably be IDE which is expected and will work fine.  Otherwise, doesn't really matter regarding ATA.

Are they required to work? Or are you needing them for something other
than storing data?

Heh, yeah considering the nature of this group, I probably should have specified.  Yes, they would need to be functional as the storage devices they were designed to be.

How much would you be willing to pay for them? I've got five IDE drives between 20 and 80 GB.

Got two 40's and two 20's, just let me know how many of which you
need. I can drop them off at the space.

I brought my HP to the space this weekend in hopes someone is interested in figuring out the problem. Techsperts couldn't figure it out after having it for a week. I attached the problem codes I've been getting. I'd be happy to compensate whoever fixes it.

I think she means they are attached to the computer.

Thanks,

I mean attached to the actual tower at the space.

Currently looking at it. I've got it running the HP diagnostics to start out. Will let you know what I find.

Judith,

I believe I've solved your STOP error code complaining about incompatible BIOS. I never saw the error after I updated your BIOS to the latest version from HP's website. I also noticed your Norton Anti Virus had expired and that you had McAffee installed somewhat (it was broken / unresponsive) as well as AVG. I removed Norton and McAffee since I've seen issues in the past with Multiple AV software and I updated AVG and did a full scan. AVG didn't find any virus. I also did some pending windows updates to make sure you had all the latest / greatest security fixes. Hopefully this solves your issues. I left your computer at the space on the front table where I found it.

Y'know, I always wondered  if techsperts just spent their money on car wraps or if they actually paid for competent techs also...guess that answers THAT question....
