Im kinda testing the waters on this, to see if there would be any interest in a Backtrack basics type class. By no means am I an expert in using it, but I would be willing to share what little I did know if there seemed to be any interest in such a thing. Plus I think it would motivate me to learn more about the operating system, and some of the functions of the different programs. Obviously I would love it if there were others who knew more than me that wanted to help <hint> <hint> Brandon<hint><hint>..
Here is what I have used, and what I would attempt to share if people seemed interested:
Wireless network pen testing. Going over the basics of WEP cracking, and using Reaver for WPS cracking.
Nmap usage for network scanning.
Some of the very basics of Metasploit usage.
It would consist of installing a vulnerable machine either on a VM, or possibly on older physical hardware. Scanning the network, identifying some possible vulnerabilities from the scan, and exploiting them using Metasploit to gain access to the machine.
Once again, its all very basic stuff, but its fun to tinker with.
