I read an article today about the Windowfarms Project and wanted to share it with the group. The idea of the project is for people in urban settings that may not have access to a garden to be able to grow food. The project uses hydroponics to grow food vertically in a window. There are complete instructions for setting one of these up on their website. The main site is: http://www.windowfarms.org/. Detailed instructions for building a Windowfarm can be found at http://our.windowfarms.org/tag/officialhow-tos/. There are several different versions, each with it's own benefits. I thought this was a really neat concept and wanted to share this.

I've seen some neat setups for these, just never knew there was an actual name to it.  Coolest one I think I saw was a guy had a setup in his basement that was watered from a large trough that housed Tilapia that he was raising and using as fertilizer for the plants.

Thanks,

Daniel H.
