Do we want to be a part of this?

SOPABlackout.org provides a nice little javascript file to present a

HacDC is planning to participate, so I came up w/ the following code
to add to our main website & wiki site:
If you plan to use this on your site, use:
if (date('Y-m-d') == "2012-01-18") {
echo '<script type="text/javascript"
src="//js.sopablackout.org/sopablackout.js"></script>';
}

The code is simple enough that you should just be able to throw it
into the header of your site w/o breaking things.

On the HacDC site, I modified it slightly in the date to change from
UTC (What the HacDC website is) to EST (Where HacDC is).

I checked and the js.sopablackout.org is hosted on a Linode in
California, so I suggest copying the js file to your local web
provider so that you know if your website is avail, the js file will
be avail (although I've thought about throwing it on my Amazon S3
account, maybe in a Cloudfront enabled bucket for my websites).

If you need the code loading the js file in a language other then php,
I'm sure if you ask someone on the list can help you w/ that.

I don't think we should do anything in defiance of SOPA while we're still using  GoDaddy  as our registrar. Seems hypocritical. (granted  GoDaddy  has retracted their support).

We've used  GoDaddy because our domains have been registered by one of our members since day 1 and that's what that member uses (Myself included). We've never moved them off of GoDaddy because, well GoDaddy is cheap and you can always find a coupon. Say what you want about their other services (I hate them) however for doing nothing but handling our registration, there isn't much they do that directly affects us. (IE their hosting goes down, is slow) Past that they've never given us a reason to move.

*** My Humble Opinion Disclaimer ***
SOPA is bad, it should die a horrible death. Companies that support it, shouldn't. I don't think blacking out our site is going to do anything of significance. I'd rather see someone who is much more knowledgeable than I write up a stance on why it's bad and publish it on our site.

I don't support SOPA however I'm still using GoDaddy. Why? Because I don't see any of these celebrities or bloggers offering up cash for me to move. Maybe I'm comfortable with the devil I know and I'm certainly afraid of potential issues with another registrar. Maybe I'm just cheap.
*** My Humble Opinion Disclaimer ***

Should the group move registrars? Probably. Bad legislation shouldn't be supported and I've always been a big believer in voting with your dollars. But at the same time I don't want to get caught in some hypocritical conundrum of "oh you moved away from X because of Y but you didn't do Z because of Y".

Excellent explanation here, with technical definitions, breakdown, players etc.

I'm for having the SOPA/PIPA blackout reach as far as possible. Every little bit counts. Therefore, I'm for the MM site blacking out.

I transferred 37 domains off of GoDaddy. I never liked them, hate their commercials, and already had begun switching to name.com; it was only a matter of time, and the time was then.
