My Works 6.0 performs fine but when I try to insert clip
art it asks that I insert my CD as a source. I never had
to do that before with older version 4. How do I get this
Common Shared clip gallery to install into the PC rather
than have to insert a CD each time?

Maybe you didn't do the complete install, at least on Works 2000 (5.0) it
gives option of "minimal" or "full install (recommended)". I know under
minimal it said that it wouldn't install various templates, etc, and I
remember noting that the clip art was listed. Perhaps the solution is to
stick in the CD Rom, uninstall (may have to use "Add/Remove Programs" from
what I remember - but CD has to be inserted), then reinstall the full
install.

With a minimal install you don't get things like templates
or clip art installed on your Hard drive.
Since you said clipart I'm assumming that you did
a Insert-> Picture-> Clip Collection in MS Word.
That's one situation where i get the "Please insert
CD ROM #2" Message.
Well, if you click the "options" button in that dialog
you will see the message: I have moved this item to..."
Now, here is what you do.
1) Take a good look at that message. Note the
name of the file and it's path.
2) Insert the CD and use Windows Explorer (not Internet
Explorer) to find the file on the CD. Pick up the file
and drag it onto the C: drive. Make note of where you
put it.
3) Open Windows and try to insert a clip art. When
you get the "Insert CD" message, click on the Options
button and tell Word where you put the clip art collection.
4) Windows will remember that it is on the hard drive and
will look there from now on.
