If I try to insert a clip art picture, when I click on clip art I get this
message:
"Works could not access files neccessary to display clip art. The files may
have been moved or deleted. To replace the necessary files, reinstall works,
then try again."

I have windows XP, and just bought the new works 8. I tried
reinstalling it, as it suggested, but I still can't access clip art.

I had to buy works 8 because this computer had a virus so we had to start
over with everything, and my school (I am a teacher)could not find it's old
back-up Works disk. Virus is all gone and everything's great except for clip
art!

Works has its own clipart and browser. The Works clipart is usually on the
Works disk. WKSv7std.sbs, this was the name of the file that contained
Works Clipart in version 7....I Don't have 8 so can not confirm if just the
number has change or the entire file name...

If you want to download clips from MS Clipart and Media site then you would
Works Suite with Word to get Clip Organizer and be able to download
clips....

I don't understand. Whenever I have used any past version of works' Word
program, I can go to insert and select clip art and a bunch of thumbnails
that came with the program just opens up. In this version that is not
happening. I get that error message instead. So, I can't even access the
organizer. This also means that I cannot download new clips either, which I
have always done in the past.

Are you using Works Word Processor or Word if you have Works Suite?

Unless you have MS Word then you can not download clips....Works clipart is
usually on the disk unless you install which may mean manually dragging the
file containing the clipart to your Hard Drive....Have you tried accessing
clipart with the Works CD in the Drive?

I do have Works word processor, it's part of the Works 8 package. I have
word processing, data base and spreadsheet. I used to have Works 7 and never
had a problem with accessing clip art, or even downloading new clip art, even
though that is not what I am trying to do now. I can insert clip art that I
have downloaded elsewhere, I just can't access the stuff that was supposed to
come with it, or download new stuff from the microsoft site.

As I said, I am not trying to download clips...I am just trying to access
the ones that are supposed to come with the disk. Yes, I have tried doing so
with the disk in the drive. I tried reinstalling the whole program. I still
get the same message. n(See previous posts for wording of message)
