I doubt it would be a problem with the display. Have you tried it again
after a re-boot or on another day, as that website fails on a regular basis
like most MS stuff these days.
I have Works Suite 99 (UK version), and after encountering the Arial problem, I
tried reinstalling Works. That went right through to the final stage, at which
it said that artgalry.dll had failed to register itself in the registry (or
words to that effect), and said that the program was not installed. Works did
work, however, except for Arial font, and probably the Art Gallery thing.
I then found that Windows did not recognise the existence of Works 99, so I
could not uninstall and reinstall. The only way to do that was to "install"
Works, as if this were a new installation, but exclude clip art and such like.
That's where I am today - I don't want to rock the boat by trying to install
Art Gallery again, in total darkness, but I really would like to get back to
full functionality of Works, which I have hitherto found to be good for
ninety-x percent of my needs.
I'm sure there is a wealth of experience in this group to help me out.
BTW, I suspect that the Y2K patch is at the root of all this, but maybe not.
Any advice out there?
