I am using Word 97.

Can someone assist me please with some VBA code which
picks up the IP address of the computer. I want to be able
to distinguish where a computer is located. If the
computer is located in a particular place (taken from the
first three sections of the IP address) a menu is loaded
for computers at that location only.

Thanks in anticipation

Mark,

I have never looked up the IP address but it's not really the computer that
has an IP address but the NIC. As you can have more than one NIC in the
computer a computer can have more than one IP address. You may for instance
have one NIC with a public IP address for the Internet and another NIC with
a local Intranet IP adress.

Thanks,

I am wanting to pick up the network IP Address of my
computer. Each and every computer we have around the
various offices have a IP Address allocated which
distinguises where they are located rather than DNS
Lookup, thats what I am need to pick up.

Thanks

Mark

Mark,

Don't challange me like this :)
First I looked up my own Inet code library and found out I had all code
needed. I used for a couple of years ago when doing Internet communication
through WinSock API only. I didn't feel for translating the code to VBA.
Instead I found VB code in API Guide 3.7.
I tried it in Word 2000 and it worked without changes.
