Hi Meadow,

For a one-off, copy & pasting into Excel, copying & using paste special/transpose there, then copying & pasting back into Word is
probably the simplest approach.

You can easily swap rows: Select the row you want to move, and go Alt+Shift+{Up Arrow} or Alt+Shift+{Down Arrow}as the case may be. Each time you hit the arrow it moves the row one up or down.

Columns are a mystery. Have you solved that yet?

Hi,

Since the reference to the keyboard shortcuts for moving rows suggests to me
that there may be some interest in how to move columns using the keyboard
without touching the mouse, I would like to add the relatively simple ways to
move columns from the keyboard.

To move a single column in a table, place the cursor in the first cell of
the column that you want to move, press Alt+Shift+Page Down to select the
entire column, press Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete to cut it, move the cursor into
the first cell of the column where you want the selected column to be, and
then press Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert to paste it.

To move two or more adjacent columns in a table, place the cursor in the
first cell of the first or last of the columns that you want to move and
select all the columns that you want to move by pressing Alt+Shift+Page Down
and then pressing Shift+Right or Shift+Left until all the columns are
selected. Then press Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete to cut the selected columns, move
the cursor into the first cell of the column where you want the first of the
selected columns to be, and press Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert to paste the
selection.
