there are bullets in my captions - ??
|
| |
I just got a job at a company that is unfortunately still using Windows XP and Word 2003. Today when trying to insert a table caption in a document, a bullet is inserted in front of the caption (*Table 1).
Try as I may to modify the caption style, I can't get back to the good old default that I am used to. I can see that the caption style says that it is bulleted, but when I try to change it to numbered, it starts at zero!... more »

Multilevel numbered doc in 2010 - keep headers with first paragraphs
|
| |
I'm working with a document in Word 2010 and it's in multilevel numbered format. I'm ending up with this: I'll have a header at the bottom of a page, and its first paragraph starts on the next page. I've tried "keep with next", I've tried using shift-enter between the header and the paragraph, and neither works reliably. Keep with next does nothing I can see, although shift-enter will *sometimes* work and sometimes it doesn't. I've done extensive Googling and come up with nothing that works. Has anyone overcome this, and if so, how did you manage it? Thanks for any assistance on this.... more »

bullets numbering- and series of dots above and below the list
|
| |
I have content that I want to apply numbered bullets to but when I highlight the content and applied ANY bullets I get a series of dots above and below the list. I have eliminated the whole section of the document and then typed it in wordpad and then cut and pasted.. I landed up with the same lines , just in different location. I cannot seem to get around those lines.... more »

Can anyone help me figure out how to keep this from happening? Basically, I want the second and third lines to be lined up with the first. 1. MS Word 2010 Standard Toolbar button--bullet
|
| |
It is NOT possible to change the behavior of the bullet button on
Word's (2007 + 2010) standard toolbar, correct?
I do consider myself an expert-level user of Word, and for over 10
years now, I have been creating and modifying templates for clients as
part of my job as a Technical Writer. My current client has made a... more »

multilevel lists
|
| |
I'm writing an engineering report using multilevel lists. Every 4th
or 5th page, Word places a large blank space on the page after I press
Enter. The new list item (3.2.2 for example) is moved to a new page
even though there is plenty of room on the existing page. Sometimes
only 3 or 4 lines of text are on the page when Word inserts the blank... more »

List labels disappear after 2000+ list items
|
| |
Hi all,
My apologies if this has already been asked and answered; my
appreciation to anyone who can point me to the answer.
I am using MS Word 2007. When a .docx file contains a large number of
list items (bulleted + numbered), the bullet and number list labels
disappear after the approximately ~2040th list item. Bullets and... more »
