How do you reset the font of an outline number to that of the body?

I understanding the font can be changed at the
Outlinenumbered-Customize dialog box. But you can only change the font
there, not reset it so that it follows the font of the text body
following the outline number.
The only way to achieve this, it seems to me, is to remember the font
formats of the text body and apply them one by one to the font of the
number.
This process is way too cumbersome, and I was lead to believe there's
gotta be a better way.

Is there?

Don't specify it at all, then it will automatically use the same as the
body.

Maybe I should have made my question more clear.

Yes, if you don't specify any, the format conforms to that of the
following heading.

The problem arises when you made some changes in the font format of
the outline number, and later change your mind and want it back to "no
additional format".
This is when you run into trouble, since there is no one single step
to remove all the additional, user-defined formats, and therefore
you're reduced to match every format to that of the heading MANUALLY.

Is there any breakthrough?

If they did it via styles then you can redefine the relevant styles so that
they don't specify the font in their numbering definition.

If they applied numbering as manual formatting, then I would remove their
numbering (Ctrl+Q) and apply styles instead.
