How to Mail Out a Large Word Document using Excel Address Book?

I have a large (100 page) Word document which I need to email out to
about a hundred people whose email addresses are held in an Excel
spreadsheet.

The problem is that afaik Word mail-merge does not allow attachments.

Anybody any idea how I can do this?

I should have said: if you make your document a mail merge main document
and use Excel as the data source, you should be able to mailmerge to
email without macros. (You will need to choose the attachment option,
rather obviously). However, you may find that you need to insert one
merge field into your document before Word will enable the buttons to
perform the merge.
