Dear MS Word expert users, Is there a way to prevent the autocorrect smart button from popping up every time MS Word does an autocorrect? I've looked through a couple of books and trough the on-line help. The on-line help explains how to disable the paste-options smart button but not the autocorrect one.... more »

File name masked when saving

I recently upgraded to MS Word 2004 for Mac and found a real problem that I can't solve. When I go to save a document, or save as a document, the space where the title goes is covered by the toolbars. Dragging the window down doesn't help, and closing and then reopening the rulers isn't terribly efficient. I've posted a screen shot of what it looks like at... more »

Aligning figures to bottom of page, WITH working bookmarks

I have a Word document (a thesis for school), with about 20 figures and tables among 80 pages. I would like the figures/'tables, with their captions, to align to the bottom of the nearest page to where they are referenced from (actually, I will gladly settle for aligning to the bottom of *any* page; doesn't have to be the nearest).... more »

MS Word crashed on quit

When I quit MS Word 2004, running under OS X 10.3.9, and there is a file open, it always crashes with the "MS Word found an error and has to close" message. With no file open, this doesn't seem to happen. The same thing happens on my G5 iMac with the same MS Office and OS X configuration. I assume this is a bug - does anyone know of a fix for it?... more »

Find and Replace Strikethrough Text

I am trying to use Find and Replace to delete all strikethrough text in a doc and replace it with nothing. I try using the Find and Replace function for this by selecting Strikethrough in the Find box with the Format dialogue and then puttin nothing in the Replace box. Nothing disappears.
