I created text in WordArt. I selected a Clip Art that. On my document I
have combined them to create a logo. I am having trouble saving them both as
one. How can I save this logo as one?

I am using MS Office 2003. Please help!

Word itself is rather badly suited to create logos. Tell us what you
intend doing with (or: _to_ :-)) this logo, and we might suggest better
tools.

That said, try saving the document as HTML. In the folder where you
save, there will be a subfolder including (aside other things) all
pictures the HTML file would reference. With any luck, one in there
might suit your needs.

Hi Robert,

I plan on using this logo on a flyer that my family is developing for a
fundraiser to raise dollars toward our first family reunion.

The logo includes: the three family names in an arched wordart design. and
the clip art is a group holding hands. the arched name surrounds the group.

Its nothing fancy by any means. It looks so nice I would hate to lose it.
besides it took a lot of time just to get everything centered. *sigh*. Its
the reason I want to save it. I tried saving it in Word, Publisher and
PowerPoint but got so frustrated.

Now I am going to try ur suggestion - however I am not that computer savvy.
But thank you so much for responding.

See http://www.gmayor.com/extract_images_from_word.htm. Also note that
aligning your clip art and WordArt should be a snap using Word's Align and
Distribute command.

[OT: Interesting: we are doing family reunions every other year: if you
manage to find sponsors outside of your family, I would be very much
interested how you did that! :-)]

If PowerPoint is an option, make sure your slide dimension is as small
as the logo (or the logo fills the slide well), then Save as | WMF
should give you a usable logo in Office.

Your welcome, and good luck!

Hi Lisa,

Just to add to the earlier suggestions ...

Powerpoint in Office 2003 gives you some useable options (in addition to
Robert's suggestion). You can paste your images into Powerpoint, line them up
etc. and then select them all by dragging the cursor so that the dotted line
that appears while you drag surrounds them all. You can then right-click on
the selected images and either "Save as Picture" or copy to the clipboard. If
you save the images as a picture you can then use Word's Insert/Picture
option to get the picture into Word if you need to. If you use the copy
option instead, you can use Word's Edit/Paste Special option to past the
images as a picture if you need to.

When saving and/or pasting you could try the different available picture
formats to see which works best.

And you can save your Powerpoint presentation so that you've got the images
for the future in a form that allows you to amend them if you want to.

Cheers.

Ed
