Document could not be registered?

"this document could not be registered. It will not be possible to
create links from other documents to this document" - click on OK.
Once you click on OK - the message is removed and you go on as normanl.
I was thinking there was a possible problem with the license file - So
I reinstalled Word - thinking that this was solution. To my surprise
it wasn't. Anyone have or has had the same problem with a solution, I
would really like to know how to get rid of it.

This document cannot be registered.

This document cannot be registered. It will not be possible to create

from this document to other documents.

This document could not be registered.
CAUSE
=====
This problem may occur if the Windows registry has been corrupted.
RESOLUTION
==========
Use the following method to resolve this problem.
Run Setup with the /y Switch to Correct the Registry
----------------------------------------------------
To resolve this problem, try running Setup /y for Word or Office to repair
registry corruption.
To run Setup with the /y switch, follow these steps:
1. Insert the Word or Office CD into the CD drive. If you installed Word or
Office from floppy disks, insert the Setup Disk 1 in your computer's
floppy
disk drive.
2. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type the following:
" <drive>:\setup /Y" (without the quotation marks)
where <drive> is the letter of the drive that contains the CD or Setup
Disk 1.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Reinstall.
This re-registers Word (and all Office programs, if you run Office Setup).

different steps did not help. I tried all three with no success -
Also, I know get an additional thing that pops up when the machine is
first turned on:
Open With - message
Click the program you want to us to open the file ADVPACK.DLL - what is
this file? And what does it do? How to I get this corrected so it
doesn't pop up anymore? What I've been doing is canceling the message.

Q198374 in the MS knowledge database and none of
them work. I have even reinstalled Windows 95 to
try to solve it. That didn't work either! Anybody
have any ideas please?
