align left and align right buttons greyed out

command buttons for left align and right align are permanently greyed out. Default for new docs is left align so not much problem but there is no way to right align. I am using Word 2007. Any ideas?

When I attempt to open and older word document I get an error that the file type was blocked by your registry policy setting in word 2007 or word 2003. "Read-Only Recommended" check box won't turn off

I saved a form using the Read-Only Recommended check box so I would not inadvertently overwrite it (Word 07, Tools-General Options). I want to clear this attribute from the form. I am facing this error very frequently in Word 2007. Without any warning the application closes and I either get a message asking me to report the error or I get a message saying 'word cannot open the file ~WRS{EF56572F.......' .
