Can anyone help me?
Two, thoughts, maybe the two network can't resolve the pc names (NAT/WINS?)
I also read that to access resources on the server you need to install a
second (virtual NIC) using a loopback adaptor, the article applied to Server
2003, http://neworder.box.sk/newsread.php?newsid=13395 is the same true for
Win XP pro?
I'd consider myself a competent amature and fast learner.

looking at ipconfig /all on both pcs
the client lists the IP address under 'PPP adapter' as 169.254.x.x,(a) I can
ping this OK
I can also ping the public IP of the remote network 80.42.x.x
On the host i have two IP addresses listed, one under Ethernet Wireless
Network 192.168.2.X its IP address on its network and another under 'PPP
adapter RAS server (dial in) interface' 169.254.y.y,(b) (this is a different
to the one above (a)) I can't ping either of these from the client. From the
host I can ping its IP (as you'd expect) pinging the second IP
169.254.y.y,(b) returns error code 65.
I assume from you last mail that I should be able to map to the host using
the IP address listed under the PPP adapter on the client 169.254.x.x,(a)
What syntax should I use to map to the hosts hard drive?
Thanks for your help,
Charlie
