Subject: Re: Switch on Remote Desktop in XP
HI, thanks for taking the time to reply. The article on Google Groups was
very useful but I can't find the group policy setting shown below:

----------------------
Then to actually force RDP to be enabled on a Windows XP Professional
Machine
(Disabled by default) you must set the following policy to "DISABLED"

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows
Components\Terminal
Services\Do Not Allow New Client Connections.
--------------------------------------------------------

I am using the Group Policy Management console on Windows XP SP2 to
administer my domain's group policies. Can you think why this setting is
missing?

Any help is much appreciated.

All the best,
Steven.

I'm not a domain type person, but there is a policy on my XP Pro SP2 boxes
for...

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal
Services\Allow users to connect remotely using Terminal Services

...that may do what you want.

Thanks very much for your help. What you suggested worked a treat and I can
now start training our helpdesk on using this tool. Sorry it took a while for
me to get back but it has been one of those weeks!

All the best,
Steven.
