How to show which printer sent the job to the computer

I have a 24 student computer lab at school. I need to know how to make add
info at the top or bottom of the page that will indicate from which computer
a job was sent as well as the time it was sent. I want to cut down on the
number of print outs the kids have which will help us save paper.

I knew how to do it on a Mac but I've looked at every option that I can find
on Windows (XP) and haven't found a similar command.

One possible way would be to set a watermark on the printer driver at each
computer. The watermark may be able to be adjusted to the top or bottom of
the page, depending on the printer driver.

Go to Control Panel, Printer and Fax and right click on the printer that the
students direct their jobs to. Left click properties. Click Printing
Preferences and then search through the tabs for Watermark. On my HP
Universal Printing PCL 5 & 6 Printing Preferences the watermark setup is on
the Effects tab. Unfortunately this driver only allows center of page
watermarks. My Okidata Color Page Printer allows the watermark to be
placed just about anywhere on the page.

So, depending on the target printer's driver the watermark option may be the
way to go. Also, if the students are printing just about anything they want
and it does not need to be a perfect printout, any watermark would work in
that case (in other words, if you can live with them turning in paperwork
with a watermark on it in the center of the page, use that method.)
