Which app to run?

When I plug in my camera to a USB port to download fotos, Windows shows me a list of applications to use to download. Every app is listed twice. Some, if selected, do nothing. Is there a way to edit this list, and get the non working entries going again? Mike

Removing boot screens

I had my computer in to be repaired and when I got it back when the bios screens boot it shows the screen that has the drives on it, the controlllers, and what ever else is in the device manager it is showing before xp boots. Windows recently had an error that required me to repair the system. Now, when I log in to my account, I first get a message telling me that I have to activate Windows. Computer crashes and restarts while starting Windows

It seems some driver files have been corrupted on my system. I was working normally and it just crashed without warning. I am currently working from an alternate setup but I would like to revert to crashed setup. It will not boot safe mode as well, it appears to hang after mup.sys. laptop will not start

My sister's 3 year old laptop will not start in any configuation. She cannot find her original XP Home Edition cd. Can she get a copy from Microsoft or can I use my wife's laptop disc to fault find or even repair her installation?

NTbackup - Restores wrong set?

I'm using Windows XP Pro and I have an incremental backup on an external hard disk. I've tried to restore from it but the only otion given is to restore from the oldest backup set. When I open the bkf using the NTBackup utility, it does not seem to recognise the latest two backup sets (of 3 I think).... more »

When I did a search for jpg files some files in a KODAK folder showed up twice. They had the exact names and sizes, located in the same directory.
