I recently tried to install a wireless network on my 3 home computers. With
two of the computers it worked instantly and I had no problems whatsoever.
The third computer has had all kinds of problems with the connection and no
matter what configuration I try I always get a "cannot be displayed- DNS
error" message. I have even tried returning it to the original hardware
configuration with only the DSL modem connected directly to the computer
without any network, but I still get this message. Restoring and/or
re-installing Windows have also been of no help. When I run ipconfig I am
able to ping IP addresses, but not actual site names. All three computers
are running XP and none of the wizards or help items seem to help. If
anyone had an idea on how to fix it I would be extremely grateful!

can you ping a public ip? if yes, can you ping yahoo.com? if not, check or
compare DNS settings with other good computer or post the result of ipconfig
/all here.

I cannot ping www.yahoo.com or any other address in that format. I can only
ping addresses in the numerical IP format. Any IP address thast I ping seems
to work fine.

I honestly wouldn't know exactly what to compare on the DNS settings to make
the proper changes.

Here are the results of the ipconfig /all:

Windows IP Configuration

Host Name .........................:adler-yvn3jcn64
Primary Dns Suffix...............:
Node Type..........................:Mixed
IP Routing Enabled..............:No
WINS Proxy Enabled..........:No

Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection 4:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix.:
Description................................:Westell Wirespeed Dual
Connect Modem

Physical Address......................:00-60-0F-26-8E-1F
Dhcp Enabled............................:Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled.........:Yes
Autoconfiguration IP Address....:169.254.252.58
Subnet Mask.............................:255.255.0.0
Default Gateway........................:

PPP Adapter verizon:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix.:
Description................................:WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface

Physical Address......................:00-53-45-00-00-00
Dhcp Enabled............................:No
IP Address.................................:141.154.221.192
Subnet Mask.............................:255.255.255.255

Thanks a lot for your help! I really appreciate it!

I get the following:

*** Can't find server name for address 151.203.0.84: No response from server
*** Can't find server name for address 151.203.0.85: No response from server
***Default servers are not available
Default Server: UnKnown

If I ping 151.203.0.85 I get a normal response.
