I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on a new computer. The
installation went very smoothly.
But I cannot see the WinXP computer in the network.
WinXP can see drives that I shared on Win7. But when I try to access
them, I am told "...is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server
to find out if you have access permissions."
On the Win7 computer, I have set permissions to "Everyone-Full
Control"
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
It seems that your XP system "might" be using Windows XP SP2. As of
Vista, Microsoft has introduced a new network protocol called Link
Layer Topology Discovery. XP SP2 appears to not have the required
"responder" so you may need to install it:
