itunes album artwork not modifiable

Couldn't see any posting in google groups on this particular solution,
so ...

I found i got the following message in itunes:

" album artwork not modifiable "

this happened after i renamed a file from m4a to mp4 when i renamed it
back it was fine - hope this helps somebody.
