Zip Drive Vanished

It seems my zip drive has vanished from Windows Explorer and My
Computer.
It had been working fine for the last 2 months which is when the
computer went into service. Any help getting the drive back would be
appreciated.
Note: The power is lit on the drive--it is an external zip drive
I'm running XP Pro.

Check cables are securely in.
Download latest driver for it from www.iomega.com
Unplug it, start windows, shut down, plug it in, start windows, see if
it is picked up again.

restarting Windows, shutting down, replugging and restarting did the
