Hey gang,
Hope someone has had this problem before and knows what is
causing it and has a fix. When I put one of my CD RW's in the drive and go
to the directory, in this case the E:\ ( its a phillips burner ) That I
like to use as another drive where I drop and drag files to. But when I put
the CD in and it shows the display of what's in it. Everything is fine and
dandy. But when I take it out and put another CD RW in, it still shows the
items that I had in the last CD that was in. This is getting annoying, I
have to reboot with the new CD for it to show up. Anybody know whats up with
this? I try to shut down and reopen windows and refresh too, nothing
changes.

Thanks,

BB

I really don't remember (if I ever knew), but it may have something to do
with the Autoplay feature. Do you have that turned on or off? It would
seem if you went to view and hit refresh that it would rescan the CD and
give up to date information.

When you insert a new CD does the drive start to spin? Does this occur with
a CD beside a CD-RW? What are you using to control the CD-RW?

Have you checked for any firmware updates for the drive. There used to be a
way to set up CDs so they would not open, like they were a permanent drive
until something special was done. Does your drive have a setting like that,
I believe it was a jumper setting.
