Hello all
I have just bought a Nexus 7 32Gb tablet and am trying to copy files
from my pc, XP Pro SP3.
I have 6 usb 2 ports on my pc, one of which 'feeds' a Belkin hub.

Why is that the DVD I have created by recording a TV program automatically opens and runs in Windows 7 machine using Windows Media Player but the same DVD does not automatically play in Windows XP Professional SP3. What do I have to do to make WMP default for everything.

Trying to copy an old PATA IDE Conner 240MB 2.5" hard drive

I am trying to view and copy everything off of an old PATA 2.5" Conner 240MB hard drive. It is a hard drive from 1993. It has Windows Pen v1.0 which is really MS-DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1 with pen support. I tried two different PATA to USB adapters, but no luck. I've got an IP camera server running on my 24-7 machine.
The way it is set up (frame buffering...) it want's to eat up most of
the processing power.
I've got an app called "Process Lasso" that allows me to prioritize
running apps and control their CPU affinity.

I am trying to write a batch program to delete a file that has "Documents and Settings" in the path. It does not work.
Trouble shooting from the "Command Prompt" ('DOS screen'):

A friend reports he is getting this small image overlaid on many posts in
several forums he uses, usually over an embedded image included with the
post. I'm guessing some software accidentally installed, or option
unknowingly enabled. Anyone recognise it please?

By "links" you mean internet shortcuts (Favorites)? They are files...all you have to do is copy them and put them wherever you want them.
If Win7 has a built in Favorites folder you can put them there. Or you can put them in a folder of your making, named as you will, and put a shortcut... more »

New XP Install and Can Not Update

Hi,
Microsoft Update does not work. I tried FixIt but I need .Net and
since I can't update the new install I don't have .Net.
No firewalls are on.

Has anybody seen or used a "driver update program", it keeps popping up on my screen and it looks real, just not sure enough to take a chance on
giving it a go.
Any thoughts are appreciated........
