Not an XP question per se but it does STEM from XP ( a little!).
I bought CA Security Suite 2009 in a box and installed it tonight.
Automatically updated itself to the 2010 version.
Strangely, I saw NO link in the entire install sequence for a full
User Guide in PDF format. Pretty common for many programs. Nor did
I see a manual on the CD. Hmmm. Went to CA's site and looked around
the Support section but NOTHING about downloads of ANY kind. The SW
will update itself automatically without a downloaded update file
and it DOES have a pretty comprehensive Help system for each
component.
But, there are those of us who still like curling up on the couch
with a juicy User Guide to spark our interest. Thus, "Google is my
best friend" - but NOT this time. Virtually ALL the hits no matter
how I phrased the search string were either direct or indirect
links to somebody wanting to SELL me the utility.
Anybody running CA Security Suite, any version, that has figured
out how to get a printable user guide?
Many thanks, everyone was most helpful with my last query. And,
have a very pleasant Sunday!

Yes, OT allright . . . Go onto the CA home page and create an EMail to their
support line. If there isn't a manual then this is your opportunity to make
your point. I asked them a technical question last week and they responded
within three days.

Hello, Pegasus. I DID insert "OT" in the subject for politeness.

Thanks for the suggestion. There's also a peer-to-peer support
forum I can join. I gather that CA comes in to answer questions or
problems as they see fit.
I posted the same basic question (but in different formats) to 2
help NGs in the HOPE that someone had already done the obvious,
back to 2006 or earlier when CA started selling an entire array of
products. I'm not much into "making my point" with support people
who have no say in what goes on and often aren't too bright or well
trained.
Like most long-time users, I can fend for myself by just poking
around the many menus and config functions for each module and
perusing the Help for the UNintuitive issues. My guess is that I'm
digging a dry hole - there ain't no manual, there ain't gonna be a
manual, so STFU and take some cheese with my whine.
Have a great week!
As I said before: The CA page offers you the opportunity to lodge an EMail
with a problem report. They *will* respond, it's not "as they see fit".
