I want to make sure that user names for network connections (especially VPN) are not stored. Although, I have NOT ticked the option "Do not save this user name...", the network connections remembers the last used user name. How can I disable this behaviour, knowing that I have disabled the security option "Interactive logon: Do not display last user name". Thanks for the help.
Run gpedit.msc. Go to Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Security Settings, Local Policies, Security Options. On the right side, enable Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name.

Well yes that's what I did... I made a mistake in my original posting... I did enable that option but the last user name for network connections is still displayed. I think this option is only for logons not for network connections. So any other ideas? It has to be possible. How secure can a system be when you cannot remove user names?
