Subject: How to remove last user name form network connections?
Hi All,

I want to make sure that user names for network connections (especially VPN)
are not stored. Although, I have NOT ticked the option "Do not save this
user name...", the network connections remembers the last used user name.
How can I disable this behaviour, knowing that I have disabled the security
option "Interactive logon: Do not display last user name". Thanks for the
help.

L.

Run gpedit.msc. Go to Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Security
Settings, Local Policies, Security Options. On the right side, enable
Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name.

Whoops, sorry about that, I meant to emphasize that you have to ENABLE it
instead of disabling it.

Well yes that's what I did... I made a mistake in my original posting... I
did enable that option but the last user name for network connections is
still displayed. I think this option is only for logons not for network
connections.
So any other ideas? It has to be possible. How secure can a system be when
you cannot remove user names?

It has always worked for me for network logins. I always enable it when I
first build the image before I hook up to the network.
