Go from dual boot to single.

dual boot Vista Beta 5270. After a week a didnt want Vista anymore so I
installed Linux Over that partition to dual Boot Linnux and Media Center. The
installation didnt work so I decided to delete the partition all together and
just single boot Media center again. Deleting the partition did not delete
the either boot loaders for Vista or Linnux So now to get to Media center I
have to go through Gnome and select widnows xp, then It takes to to the Vista
loader and I have to select Legacy Operationg System to get to Media center.
How do I ger rid of these boot loaders so It automatically just starts media
center? They are not listed in boot config under msconfig.

boot loader. If you go to folder option and from the view tab select show
hidden files and folders, then open Windows explorer and click no your C:
drive letter you should see a folder called Boot. This is the boot folder
for Vista. Now the problem is, you don't have a copy of your original
boot.ini file.

follow the instructions and create the disk. I know you have Media Center
but create the boot ini file as instructed on the web page.
After you have finished, place the floppy into your floppy drive and reboot
your machine. If the machine boots to Media Center without any problem then
things are going well.
Once you have done this go back to Windows explorer and delete the following
files from the C: drive Boot.Bak and Bootsect.Bak. Next delete the boot
folder completely. Finally copy the boot.ini file from the floppy disk to
the C: drive. Now reboot your PC.
I cannot guarantee that it will work, but it has worked for me. You can
always edit the boot.ini file later to replace the Windows XP menu label
with Media Center.
