Try rolling back if you can and see if the problem
goes away.

scroll down to Using System Restore to Undo Changes
I know it's unreliable, but it's perhaps worth a try. Back up
first in case a Restore renders the system unbootable.
Alternatively, you can see which Windows Updates were
recently installed and uninstall them one at a time, checking
to see if your problem is resolved.

Damn straight it is.
And for good reason.
Do a little research on the patches for the patches
that hosed users' machines. It happens all too often -
even once is too much.
And the way that the OS bitches about Auto Updates
being turned off makes most users just give in and let
the updates happen.
Some of us don't like being unwitting beta testers for
Windows Update. We have work to do, our machines
need to be STABLE.
How would you feel about it if you applied all the
latest patches (in the proper manner) and something
critical did not work afterward? My guess is that you
would NOT be praising MS...
Wow, lots of quantum leaps there...are
you psychic or something (or maybe you own
a bunch of MS stock)?
You are an idiot, and I will no longer continue
this thread with you.
