Hi I am having problems with the following two updates for windows XP
64 bit.

Update for the 2007 Microsoft office system KB967642
Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 service Pack 2 foe
x64 based systems XB954459

Neither of these updates will install on my system
Can anybody advise me what I need to do to make them install
correctly.
Thanks

A1. (KB967642 & Office 2007 SP2) Insert your Office 2007 CD into the
appropriate drive-bay before attempting to install Office 2007 SP2 again.

A2. (KB954459) See the 'How to obtain help...' & 'Known Issues' sections of
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954459

OP,

Windows Updates has it's own newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windowsupdate

Try the redistributable for the XML update:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=59914795-60c7-4ebe-828d-f28cb457e6e3&displaylang=en#filelist

PA Bear,

If you copy the Office CD locally & install from there then you don't need
the CD. Also, you can cache installation files too meaning no CD required
either. You can also use the commandline to bypass using the installation CD
too
