I need some help please. When I download things it will only download to 99%
then it stops and want completely download things. Is there anything I can do
to fix this short of a reformat?

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3) when posting in a
forum or newsgroup. Please do so in your next reply. In this case, also
state your IE version.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Might be worth a try to wait...the download may finish.

Are you joking or what?

Get a download manager or use Opera, it DL's very reliably.
See my other post under "Saving website pictures" tonight.

You mean "files"?

That's probably your anti-virus program kicking in to interrogate the
downloaded file before it releases it for your use.

Haven't a clue what that clause was supposed to mean.

How long did you wait? If it is a huge file, it will take a long time for
your anti-virus program to scan that file.

Hello Coffee 1234567890, like your name, there are few details, too few. For
starters try checking out your software/Re-install, or if you are using
windows, simply look under Help for "Detect & Repair", run it. Do you have
AV running? Is your Web connection OK - you are paying your bills? - just
joking. How often does this happen, from what sites?, what kind/length of
files are you downloading? What is your platform? Re format -- NO.

Pssst! Reformat won't help. Pass it on.
