My computer also came up with this message. I just bought a new
computer with a PC-Chips motherboard (Athlon XP). The included
"Mainboard XP support" CD-Rom installs VIA drivers, etc. On it is
/Install/Reboot.exe, which apparently calls
/Install/Tools/DelFolders.exe. When I remove Reboot.exe from the XP
Startup folder, the complaint about DelFolders.exe goes away.

In Reboot.exe, at hex location 579C3 is the string
Tools\DelFolders.exe.

My thought is, how many of these "DelFolders" complaints come after
installing motherboards?

I think the reboot.exe and delfolder.exe's purpose is to actually clean up
the temporary files left over by the mainboard's driver installer, but
apparently it isn't well written.

I'm sure you are absolutely CORRECT!

I installed a new K7S5A Pro in my wife's computer a couple of weeks ago
while it was running Win ME. On New Years eve I upgraded her computer to
Win XP Home. In the process I loaded drivers from the drivers/support CD
that came with the board and I've gotten that message everytime I rebooted
since. I deleted it from the registry thinking I'd found the source but it
kept reappearing. After googling to your posting, I searched the MB's
support Cd and sure enough "delfolders.exe" and "reboot.exe" are both
located in the ....../tools directory. Deleted reboot.exe from the startup
directory and delfolders.exe from the registry and the problem is finally
solved. So simple : )

What's funny is all the postings I waded through referring to it as Adware
or a Virus ---- wrong!
