Now you can use the utility to set up the 160GB drive to accept the XP
OS.
<plonk>
If you've already enabled RAID, connected the Maxtor ATA to a PATA
ribbon cable, set up the disk as JBOD in the RAID BIOS screen,
wouldn't you need to press F6 during WinXP installation, and
offer the driver floppy ?
This download makes a driver floppy. Insert blank floppy, and run
the Makedisk.exe contained inside the zip file, to prepare a driver floppy.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asus/misc/ide/nvidia/NVpataraid_32bit_Disk.zip
(contains Makedisk.exe which formats a blank floppy)
Your floppy will have files like this. I'm only suggesting
this floppy of driver files, because it sounds like you're
prepared the Maxtor 160GB PATA to be a JBOD RAID device.
