Hello all, we have a bunch of xpe clients (hp variety) that drop themselves
from our network periodically. It makes no sense as to why they do. In
order to fix this, we have to add the machine to a workgroup, and then readd
to domain. We have not been able to pinpoint the problem. We have already
tried starting over with a new image. Another part to this is we also have
Wyse clients with XPE as well, and they do not drop from the network. Any
ideas will be greatly appreciated.

How old are the HP thinclients? Do you know if they have the registry filter
built into the image?

all of the clients were purchased within the past two years, some as new as a
few months old. they all do indeed have the registry filer. that was
actuall one of the things we tried, turning the filter off that is.

We are embedded OEM and one of our costumer with XPe SP2 FP 2007 had the same
problem more then a year ago.

The component "Registry Filter" (Version 5.1.2600.3333) had a error in some
cases: At sudden power loss, the changes are not stored to disk.

SP3 should solve the problem, but now we have the problem also on images
with Win XPe SP3.

Is there an other solution, then turn off computer account password
change?Because our customer doesn't want disable the computer account
password change.
