My C drive is a Compact Flash Card an is recognised as a "Removable Disk"
but i want XP to
see it as a normal hard disk. What do i have to do?

Thanks,

on the flash disk the removeable disk flag is set. this is
a hardware setting. for some flash disks the manufacturer
does provide tools to switch this bit (SanDisk for
example). we have this problem as well

Hi,

I am also looking for a fix to this senario. I am not using Comapct Flash.
Instead, I am using IBM MicroDrive which is a type-II disk. It was also seen
as a removable media in both Windows-2000/XP. In Windows-2000, I can switch
it back to local disk by updating the registry value. However, the same
approach does not work in XP. I will be interested any updates as a fix to
this senario.

Thanks in advance.

Tim
