Embedded Development Quickstarts and Primers?

This type of development is unknown to me but as a C# developer I am very
interested in learning how to develop gaming applications for example using
my skills. Can you help me get started?

I've also learned we can use the MicroFramework and Sidekick which is what
my dev skills will enable me to work with.
