Is it possible to locate the Sounds applet in the SysTray ?

If you mean what file places the sound (enabled / disabled) icon in the systray
(System Tray / Notification Area) - then I think you want : sndvol32.exe
(System Tray / Notification Area) - then I think you want : sndvol32.exe
