When starting Windows xp, a message comes up saying..."RBA
has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the incovencience. Please tell Microsoft about this
problem. We have created an error report that you can send
us....." Any ideas. The Computer is a Compaq. By the way,
after closing the message, the computer seems to work
fine. Thanks in advance.

That is the Compaq Advisor. Compaq has a fix for it at
their website. If you have removed the advisor without
updating it first, RBA stays behind and constantly calls
home. I got rid of mine when it interupted a CD burning
session using XP to announce an important notice -- It was
advising me to book a vacation with DisneyWorld. And prior
to that incident, advised me to recharge the battery on my
desktop. Since it appeared to be more of an annoyance and
not really useful, I didn't keep it very long.
