This morning I can't find my Windows 7 NG listing in OE. And can't remember
the name. Help? Thanks, Roberta

Unfortunately it's highly unlikely that there will be any Microsoft
Windows 7 newsgroups. Apparently Microsoft has decided that web-based
forums are better than newsgroups and they are putting their efforts
there. I'm personally sorry that's the case, but it's their decision,
not mine.

However there is at least one non-Microsoft Windows 7 newsgroup:
alt-windows7.general. Not all servers carry it (at least not yet), but
here's one free news server that does: aioe.org

I found this one on the web and my server evidently doesn't carry (not yet
anyway) the one you mention. so will use this for a while.
Thanks all, for the input.

You're welcome, but two points:

1. Using a web-based interface to a newsgroup is, in my view, a very
poor thing to do. It is *much* slower and harder to use than a
newsreader.

2. I see from your headers that you use outlook express as your
newsreader. Outlook express, like almost all newsreaders, can very
easily use multiple news servers. You can, and should, add aioe.org to
it.

Ken,
I really do not like reading newsgroups via the web, but it appeared to be
the only way to see what was going on.
Howver, I've set up aioe.org as you suggested. Am now a happy camper.
Thank you, Roberta
